The world federation PDC informed about this corona-related change on Monday (March 22, 2021). Instead all 17 evenings of the competition which is played in league format will be played in Milton Keynes in England, among them the final on May 28 which was originally planned in the German capital. The Premier League this year starts delayed on Easter Monday (April 5) because the PDC had hoped for an easing of the Corona situation and thus the return of spectators in the arenas.
Now all matches are to be played at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, which has proved strategically favorable over the past six months. In the Premier League ten top players are involved, among them World Champion Gerwyn Price from Wales and the long-time leader Michael van Gerwen (Netherlands). There are no German participants in 2021.
