Information about S-Bahn, U-Bahn, buses, and trams in Berlin: Tickets, fares, regulations, networks, schedules and more
As of Friday: Ringbahn interrupted for weeks
Starting Friday, the Ringbahn (circle route around the city center) will be interrupted for several weeks.
The Ringbahn will be closed between Halensee and Beusselstrasse stations starting this Friday (March 19, 2021). This will affect commuter trains on lines 41 and 42. On the section of the western Ringbahn, tracks and switches will have to be renewed at Westend station, and bridge superstructures will have to be restored. The construction work is expected to last until April 12, 2021. Passengers will then have to switch to rail replacement services with buses for almost a month.
Changes in frequency on other sections of the Ringbahn
During the construction work, the commuter trains on the Beusselstrasse and Wedding station line can only run every ten minutes. Changes in service also affect the S-Bahn trains on the route between Südkreuz and Halensee. Here, trains will run every 15 minutes. Between Bundesplatz and Halensee, trains will be able to run every six to seven minutes. BVG recommends that passengers avoid the closed section and use the S3, S5, S7, S9, U2, U7 and U9 lines.
