The Alte Nationalgalerie can be seen in the light of the rising sun.

At that time, a visit to Nefertiti, for example, the famous bust of the ancient Egyptian ruler, becomes possible again, observing the appropriate hygiene measures.

Further openings planned for April 1

In the first stage, in addition to the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, the James Simon Gallery, the Pergamon Museum and the Panorama on Berlin's Museum Island, as well as the Museum of European Cultures in Dahlem, will open. Further houses are to follow on April 1.

Museum Island - a magnet for the public

The National Museums in Berlin include 15 collections with 4.7 million objects at 19 locations. The museums were visited by almost 4.2 million people in 2019, the last year before Corona, of which almost 3.1 million alone visited the buildings on Museum Island.
