New Michelin stars for Berlin and Brandenburg
Delicious food, top chefs and attentive hosts: Berlin and Brandenburg restaurants have once again made it into the Michelin Guide this year.
The successes of the elite gastronomy that were successful in the tests were presented digitally on Friday (05 March 2021). Despite the difficult past months, this year's restaurant selection confirms the diversity and high level of German gastronomy, it said. A total of 310 starred restaurants were included nationwide. In the previous year, the restaurant guide contained 308 star restaurants.
15 Berlin restaurants with at least one star
In Berlin, the restaurant "Rutz" was able to defend its three stars. "Coda Dessert Dining", "Facil", "Horváth", "Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer" and "Tim Raue" were awarded two stars in the capital. A Michelin star adorns 19 other restaurants. In Brandenburg, the "Kochzimmer in der Gaststätte zur Ratswaage" and the "Kabinett F.W." in Potsdam were each awarded one star. The "Savu" in Berlin and the "17fuffzig" in Burg im Spreewald in Brandenburg were removed from the list.
Corona boosts chefs' ingenuity
Gastronomy continues to experience exceptionally difficult times due to the pandemic, emphasised Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide. Nevertheless, the chefs had shown courage and ingenuity to continue to be there for their guests and to maintain their high culinary standards. The Guide Michelin is one of the leading international restaurant guides alongside the Gault Millau.
