The winter edition of the Berlin Fashion Week will also be held in Corona times. From 18 to 22 January 2021, the programme will include the well-known formats, such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the Berlin Salon.
The overarching theme will be sustainable fashion, as the Senate Department for Economics announced on 25 November 2020. How many digital shares the programme will have and how many people will be able to watch the formats locally depends on how the pandemic develops. There will also be a Berlin Fashion Week in the summer, said Senator for Economics Ramona Pop (Greens). The "Tagesspiegel" had reported earlier.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will move to the Kraftwerk Berlin from 18 to 20 January and will once again rely on live broadcasts on the net. Shows are planned under the highest security standards and with a limited number of people, announced the Nowadays agency as organiser. They consider it important to stage a "physical venue, whether with 300 or only 50 guests" - if this is officially possible. Berlin has had to cope with a setback this year as a fashion city: The Premium trade fair announced in June that it was moving to Frankfurt/Main.
