On Museumsinsel, the Alte Nationalgalerie, the Altes Museum and the Pergamon-Panorama will first open their doors to visitors. At the Kulturforum, the Gemäldegalerie will unlock again. The exhibition "Pop on Paper" with works from Warhol to Lichtenstein can also be seen there.
The museums had been closed since 14 March due to the pandemic. All visits are subject to compulsory masks and the usual rules on hygiene and distances. In order to avoid queues of waiting visitors, tickets should also only be sold with time slots that can be booked online beforehand. The National Museums of the Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage, which is supported by the Federal Government and the Länder, have 13 collections in 19 museums alone. The Museum Island in the centre of Berlin, which has been designated a World Cultural Heritage Site, was recently visited by a good three million people every year.
