"Thank you." Brandenburg Gate illuminated on the day of liberation

For the 75th anniversary of the end of the world war, the Brandenburger Tor was illuminated on Friday evening with the words "Thank you" in several languages.

In Russian, English, French and German the Brandenburg Gate is illuminated with "Thank you".

The gratitude was shown in Russian, English, French and German. "In the late evening hours of May 8, 1945, the surrender took effect. With this projection, Berlin wants to send a signal, a message, and 75 years after the end of the Second World War, to thank the Allies for liberating Europe from National Socialism," was the message from Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH. With the capitulation of the German Wehrmacht on the evening of 8 May 1945, the Second World War ended in Europe.
