With the spectacular commitment of Jürgen Klinsmann, Hertha BSC wants to prevent a total crash like in 2010 and 2012. Three days after the embarrassing 4-0 defeat at FC Augsburg, Hertha manager Michael Preetz ended the failed experiment with Bundesliga newcomer Ante Covic on the coach's bench. "In the end, with a view to the development and the latest results, we were of the opinion that there was a need for action," Preetz was quoted on the club's website.
Michael Preetz said in a press release: "The decision was extremely difficult for us because Ante has been part of Hertha BSC for more than 20 years. He lived the job as head coach of the professional crew since summer with very much passion, specialized knowledge and meticulousness. (...) I would like to thank Ante for his commitment and we will talk to him about alternative ways of involvement with Hertha BSC at some point".
