All Lufthansa connections to Munich and Frankfurt were cancelled, according to the flight plan on the Berlin Airports website. On Thursday, Lufthansa will be offering a total of almost 40 flights from Tegel airport to both cities. Other destinations are not served from there.

1300 flights affected by strike

But there was no rush to the railways because of the strike, at least in the morning. It was expected that many passengers would take the train instead. "We have a normal traffic situation in long-distance traffic", said a spokesman for the railway. Due to the 48-hour strike of the flight attendants, Lufthansa had cancelled 1300 flights nationwide on both days, 700 of them on Thursday.
