Berlin celebrates Day of German Unity

For this year's Day of German Unity celebrations, a big Volksfest will take place at the Brandenburg Gate.

In recent years, thousands of people have visited the celebration of German Unity Day in Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate.

From Thursday to Saturday (3 to 5 October 2019), the street festival will take place under the motto "Show what you can do". Young artists will have the opportunity to present themselves on three stages on the Straße des 17. Juni. "Berlin and its guests from all over the world can look forward to a cheerful and colourful celebration of unity full of diversity in the heart of the capital", the organisers of the event said. In addition to performances, there will also be rides and a stand by basketball team Alba Berlin. The festival opens on Thursday and Saturday at 12 noon, on Friday at 1 p.m. The event ends around 10 p.m. Admission is free.
