Passengers must be prepared for closures, as Deutsche Bahn announced on Monday, 12 August 2019. From 26 August to 3 October 2019 there will be no trains on the s-Bahn line S75 between Wartenberg and Springpfuhl. Tracks will be replaced on this section and the S7 will also be temporarily closed for transport.

S5 and S7 interrupted from 4 October

From 4 October to 13 November 2019, the S7 will not be running between Ahrensfelde and Nöldnerplatz because an electronic interlocking will be put into operation. For the same reason, the S5 will also be closed: There will be no trains between Wuhletal and Ostkreuz from 4 October until 12 November. The S-Bahn offers rides in replacement buses.

From 14 November, all lines will run normally

"This construction work is particularly extensive and complex and demands a lot of patience from our customers," said S-Bahn boss Peter Buchner. "But investments in the rail infrastructure are necessary to ensure that the S-Bahn will continue to travel safely and reliably in the future. On November 14, the trains will be running again on all lines.
