The heat takes a break

Temperatures of 37 degrees and more on Sunday ensured well-filled outdoor swimming pools in Berlin and Brandenburg. From Monday it will be cooler.

On Sunday many Berliners were drawn to the numerous outdoor swimming pools in the capital. Strandbad Wannsee reported "a high number of visitors", but no concrete figures were available. Some swimming pools had additional staff to keep the queues at the entrance short.

From Monday cooler and windy

From Monday (01 July 2019) temperatures will fall again. "A cold front with air from the Atlantic and the North Sea is on its way from the west," says the DWD spokesman. Then only 26 to 30 degrees are to be expected. The wind will also increase on Monday. "Between 14 and 20 o'clock we expect maximum wind force 7".

No rain until Friday

Up to 23 degrees are expected for Tuesday (02 July 2019). It is not expected to get warmer until next Friday. There is no rain in sight, except for the north of Brandenburg. There could be some showers there. "The danger of forest fires is still given because of the dryness , explained the speaker. Hobby gardeners should absolutely continue to water their plants because the soil has dried up.
