Jürgen Klopp named German Football Ambassador

Jürgen Klopp received the award as German Football Ambassador 2019 in the category "coaches". The 51-year-old coach of FC Liverpool was honoured on Wednesday, 15 May 2019 at the Foreign Office in Berlin by Borussia Dortmund's Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke.

"Jürgen adds something to every club," said BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke in his laudatory speech about the club's former coach. "People love him because they notice that he lives for the club."

"I like being German, I like being European and I like living in England. I represent our country every day and try to do it as well as possible," said the coach of the Champions League finalist. Marc-André ter Stegen of FC Barcelona was awarded the audience award for players.
