Berlin remains popular with tourists

Berlin is still a popular travel destination for people from all over the world and especially Britain. Almost three million visitors visited the German capital in the first three months of 2019.

In total, more than seven million overnight stays were registered in Berlin, as the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office announced on Thursday, 9 May 2019. This number corresponds to almost 5 percent more overnight stays and a good 4 percent more guests than in the same period in 2018.

The Brits love Berlin

More than every third guest came from abroad - mostly from Great Britain (132,300), followed by Italy (89,000) and Spain (85,700). On average, every visitor to Berlin stayed in the city for 2.4 days. At the end of March there were 787 overnight accommodations in Berlin with at least ten beds. There were also seven campsites in the capital.
