The trains will run on the S3 line in the east of the city, as a spokeswoman for the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) said on Friday 3 May 2019. "The demand there is very high and it is operationally possible". The "Berliner Zeitung" had previously reported on this.

Express train of the S3 is three minutes faster

The additional trains run every 20 minutes on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. They will not stop at the stations Hirschgarten, Wuhlheide, Betriebsbahnhof Rummelsburg and Rummelsburg. This shortens the journey time on the route by three minutes. From Köpenick to Ostkreuz, for example, it only takes ten minutes.
