Owner Milena Glimbovski fills an empty can in the supermarket "Original unverpackt" in Kreuzberg.
Her idea "hits a social nerve and is highly topical with the discussion on the subject of plastics", Economics Senator Ramona Pop (Green Party) announced on 2 November 2018.
"Original Uverpackt" story began in Kreuzberg
Glimbovski opened the "Original Unverpackt" store in Kreuzberg in 2014 - where customers can fill their own containers with noodles, nuts or rice and pay for them. According to the press release, there are now around 80 stores in Germany based on her model.
Prize "Entrepreneur of the Year" endowed with 5000 Euro
The Berlin Senate Administration, Investitionsbank Berlin and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce award the prize, which is endowed with a total of 5,000 euros. A jury selected three winners. The founders of an educational institution and a management consultancy made it to second and third place.
