Berlin tests WiFi in more buses

Those who travel through Berlin by bus will in future have public Internet access more often. Berlin's public transport company BVG plans to install WiFi technology in at least 180 buses.

"It should be tested whether this is accepted", said BVG spokeswoman Petra Reetz on 17 October 2018. So far there is free WiFi in underground stations, where mobile phone reception can be bad. However, a test with 30 buses is also underway. The test is now being extended.
The state government is spending around 600,000 Euro on this, the company announced. About every tenth bus will then have the corresponding technology within the next few months. After half a year, the company wants to see if enough people use the access.
