Christmas lighting at Kurfürstendamm starts in November

Almost exactly one month before Christmas Eve, Berlin's Kurfürstendamm will once again create a festive atmosphere in 2020.

At the push of a button, representatives from politics and business started the Christmas illumination on Kurfürstendamm.

On Monday, November 23, 2020 at 6 pm the traditional Christmas lights will be switched on on the shopping boulevard.

More than 550 trees shine in a blaze of light in 2020

The Christmas lighting at Ku'damm is again this year partly financed by Senate funds. A total of around 440,000 euros is available for this year's illumination of the Ku'damm between Rathenauplatz and Wittenbergplatz.

Christmas illumination at Kurfürstendamm until January 06

As in previous years, the figures of the Nutcracker at the height of KaDeWe and the Snowman at the height of Brandenburgische Strasse adorn the illuminated boulevard over a total length of around 4.5 km. A special eye-catcher are also the two 20-meter high entrance portals with stars. The lighting at Ku'damm is switched on daily from 16 to 24 pm.
