Helmut Newton. Legacy

To mark the 100th birthday of the master photographer, the exhibition "Helmut Newton. Legacy" at the Museum of Photography focuses on Newton's fashion photography, including numerous previously unknown or forgotten motifs.

The retrospective "Helmut Newton. Legacy" could not be opened as planned in Berlin on Newton's 100th birthday due to the corona crisis in 2020, but will be shown from October 31, 2020, accompanied by an extensive new monograph. The exhibition offers, among other things, an insight into Newton's final selection of images for the magazine editorial or to enable couturiers and advertisers to paraphrase his well-known pictorial work in an interesting way.

About Helmut Newton

Helmut Newton created an incomparable work full of subtle seduction and timeless elegance - also and especially in the nude genre: Among them are portraits of naked people at swimming pools, sophisticated photographs of unclothed mannequins and other fashion-based nudes, half-naked models with orthopedic supporting prostheses, or provocative stagings of sexual obsessions in female occupation. The many iconic Newton pictures from the genres portrait and nude may also be seen in the exhibition "Helmut Newton. Legacy" exhibition.
