Shattered - transformations of cubism

The exhibition «Shattered» in the Sexauer Galerie aims to show different variations of style-related elements of Cubism.

As at the beginning of the 20th century, we are now in a time of technological revolutions. And as so often in history, such profound changes lead to a sense of optimism and belief in technology on the one hand and nervousness and feelings of being overwhelmed on the other.

«Shattered - transformations of cubism» aims to trace how and why artists use and develop this style for themselves today. Beyond a critique of style, the exhibition at Sexauer in Weißensee also wants to examine the state of the body in the post-industrial age and trace the worlds of feeling to which the depicted images of people correspond.
