Between Art & Fashion. Photographs from the Collection of Carla Sozzani

The Helmut Newton Foundation presents around 200 photographs from the collection of Italian editor and gallerist Carla Sozzani.

Carla Sozzani, born in 1947, worked as editor-in-chief of the Italian Elle and Vogue. For many years she collected photographs, including pictures of Helmut Newton, and exhibited them in her gallery in Milan. Today, her collection comprises almost 1000 works. The focus is on classic black-and-white photography.

Fashion, nude and still life photography

Sozzani's collection includes fashion pictures, photographic experiments, nude portraits and still lifes. They belong to well-known photographers such as Berenice Abbott, Duane Michals, Francesca Woodman, Daid Moriyama, Man Ray and William Klein. The Helmut Newton Foundation has compiled a selection of 200 photos. Among them are not only well-known icons but also unknown and surprising images.
