The Gallery Weekend Berlin is one of the leading events for contemporary art in Germany and invites visitors to take a tour of Berlin's creative scene.

With around 50 participating galleries and about 80 international and national artists, the Gallery Weekend is a great success year after year and has developed into a strong-selling event on the art market.

Highlights of the Gallery Weekend 2024*

  • With "Palace of Wasted Footsteps", the Hua International Gallery is showing bizarre and abysmal sculptures by Jenkin van Zyl, who is presenting a panopticon of his past film and installation props.
  • The interplay between sexuality, identity and the body is at the centre of Helen Chadwick's photographs and videos. Galerie Société is dedicating a solo exhibition to the artist for Gallery Weekend.
  • Nicole Ondre's sculptures translate her knowledge of mathematical knot theory into art. The clay figures represent an attempt to translate hypothetical constructs into reality. "Torsion" will be shown at the Tanya Leighton Gallery.
  • Gerrit Frohne-Brinkmann is presenting the exhibition "Prop and Predator" at the Noah Klink Gallery. In his sculptures, he explores the relationship between man and nature.
  • Haley Mellin's paintings and drawings in "Biodiversity and Betadiversity" emphasise what she has made her life's work: the fight for environmental justice and the preservation and sustainable development of diverse ecosystems.
  • Ethereal, dreamy paintings that can tell the viewer a whole story are Cornelia Schleime's trademark. Her works will be exhibited as part of the Gallery Weekend at Galerie Judin under the title "Ohne Lippen sind die Zähne kalt".
  • Galerie Michael Haas is showing the group exhibition "Mülheimer Freiheit" with works by Hans Peter Adamski, Peter Bömmels, Walter Dahn, Jiří Georg Dokoupil, Gerard Kever and Gerhard Naschberger. The six artists moved into a shared studio in Müllheimer Freiheit in Cologne in autumn 1980. Even though they did not pursue a common concept, they were united by the desire to break with convention through "wild painting".
