On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus Week 1923, the Bauhaus Music Weekend celebrates the interwoven relationships between the Bauhaus style and music.
The program includes works by well-known Bauhaus artists such as Stefan Wolpe as well as pieces by Igor Stravinsky, Kurt Weill and Ferrucio Busoni. In addition, there will be mediation formats, discussions and workshops on the field of tension between music and the Bauhaus. Details of the program will follow shortly before the event.
The festival will also present the first results of a research project that has been working for two years at the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin on the systematic reconstruction of musical life at the historical Bauhaus stations in Weimar, Dessau and Berlin. The music weekend is the prelude to a longer engagement of the Bauhaus Archive with musical life at the historic Bauhaus.
