Soviet Memorial

The Tiergarten Soviet War Memorial was built by order of the Red Army in 1945 right at the intersection of the former "Siegesallee" avenue with today´s "Straße des 17. Juni".

The memorial is maintained by the city of Berlin. The front of the memorial faces the street "Straße des 17. Juni" and is freely accessible except, due to stairs, to disabled people. On the back side to the north of the monument - the restored path "Zeltenallee" leads to the memorial. At night the memorial is closed off from this side.
