Besides the basic figures of "Großer Stern" and "Zeltenplatz" squares, "Floraplatz" square adds another example of baroque design to Tiergarten park. Originally adorned with a statue of the goddess Flora in its centre this circular square was cut out of the forest area of the parks as a "salon" by the landscape designer Knobelsdorff and connected to the adjoining baroque path network by six paths forming a star around it.

Since 1906, the statue "Reitende Amazone" (Riding Amazon) by sculptor Louis Tuaillon has stood in the centre of "Floraplatz" instead of the original Flora statue.

Copies of the animal groups made for the Washington Memorial in Philadelphia by sculptor Rudolf Siemering were also located here in the Imperial Age. After the Second World War, they were transferred to other places.

After the renaturation of the "Entlastungsstraße" bypass road, Floraplatz was restored in 2001 along with some of the star-shaped paths and the "Reitende Amazone" statue in the centre.
