Cultural events are a vital part of public life in the city. In cases where space of traffic must be used for events, a permit of the traffic authority is required according to § 29 subparagraph 2 of the German Road Traffic Regulations (Straßenverkehrs-Ordnung, StVO), in conjunction with § 13 of the Berlin Traffic Law (Berliner Straßengesetz, BerlStrG).
This is the case, if the use of a road is obstructed due to the number or the conduct of the participants or the way of movement of the involved vehicles.
The organiser must warrant that traffic regulations as well as potential conditions and requirements are complied with.
Applications shall be submitted informally to the Traffic Management.
