Berlin’s cultural affairs department (Senate Chancellery – Cultural Affairs) is responsible for museums, libraries, archives, memorials, theaters, orchestras, and choirs, as well as for funding for artists living in Berlin.
Since the reshuffling of the Senate in 2006, the Senate Chancellery has also been the seat of the Commissioner for Churches and Religious and Philosophical Communities.
