Projekt Zukunft at the Innovation in Public Services conference, Barcelona

Innovation in Public Services, a conference organized by ESADE and LOCALRET, February 11th, Barcelona.

Open Data aims to make government data freely available to all citizens. This means that both companies and developers will be able to create advanced online services based on this data. By doing so, Open Data targets two important results: To promote innovation, using public data as a catalyst for new applications and services, transforming governments from service providers into platform managers; and to return personal data to citizens, increasing transparency. Open Data Initiatives have been endorsed by the Obama administration, as well as the governments of the UK, Australia, the European Union, etc., and is increasingly present in local and regional government initiatives, particularly as a mechanism for promoting innovation in Smart Cities.

Dr. Wolfgang Both from the Berlin Senate Department for Economics will be talking about the state of open data in Berlin.
