Berlin is a city of diversity and has been a home to immigrants for 300 years. Many people who live in Berlin were not born here but moved here from other German cities or from all around the world. We want to show, what integration means specifically to these people.
We have met and portrayed people who came to this city as refugees. We have also spoken to Berliners who are committed to helping the refugees. Without the commitment of the community, the great challenge that integration poses would be very hard to meet.
I would like to thank you for your interest in this issue which is so important for Berlin. I hope that reading the different stories and articles about their lives and experiences will help to increase understanding of integration in Berlin.
