The House of Representatives elects the Governing Mayor. In addition to passing legislation, this parliament’s fundamental tasks include the supervision of the state government and the administration subordinate to it. In this regard, its right to approve and monitor the state budget is its highest and most important prerogative. The parliament does its work in individual select committees.
