The Ordnungsamt can be considered by the general public as a central information centre (a Zentrale Anlauf- und Beratungsstelle, or ZAB for short). From here you will be able to gain information and advice for a number of matters, and any documents and forms that you might require can be found here as well. If you have any comments or complaints that you wish to send the council, please send them here.
The Ordnungsamt deals with the following:
- The monitoring of parked vehicles.
- General maintenance on cleanliness and order, e.g. rules on dogs, parkland and roads.
- Taking measures against the anti-social creation of noise by neighbours.
- Giving permission to distribute advertisements.
- Protection of non-renewable resources, etc. (e.g. making sure that reusable packaging is recycled and the raising of deposits for non-reusable packaging).
- Watching over trade affairs.
- Giving trade permits.
- Giving permission to businesses for unusual opening hours.
- The organising of markets and festivals.
- Giving permission to use explosives, etc.
- The monitoring of commercial storage of pyrotechnics in connection with retail stores.
- The monitoring of commercial and non-commercial use of pyrotechnics.
- Applications to delay the compulsory military and civil service of German citizens.
The office is split into two teams:
Team 1 - Genehmigen/Erlaubnisse (Approvals and Permits), Mrs. Fischer Team Leader
and
Team 2 - Eingriffe/Ordnungswidrigkeiten (Interventions and Adversities), Mr. Rothe Team Leader.
