If you need advice on bringing up children, family life, life as a couple or parent or on separation and divorce, come to the Education and Family Counselling Centre (Erziehungs- und Familienberatungsstelle or EFB) for all the support you need. Consultation sessions can make all the difference. We will work with you to look for ways of finding a solution to your personal, family or child-rearing issues.

  • General questions on the development and upbringing of children and teenagers
  • Difficulties at different stages in their lives, such as puberty or leaving home
  • Behavioural problems such as bed-wetting, anxiety, sleep and eating disorders and agitated, aggressive or withdrawn behaviour from children or teenagers
  • Family and relationship problems
  • Stress and conflicts during the transition from a couple to a family
  • Separation and divorce issues
  • Settlement of access and care rights
  • Issues of violence within the family, suspicions of child abuse and/or sexual abuse
  • Where necessary, we can also help with referral to other specialist services.

You can contact us in person or by telephone. Look under EFB locations to find your nearest Education and Family Counselling Centre.
We will arrange an appointment for you as soon as possible. If it is particularly urgent, we can make an appointment straight away. We work without bureaucracy and free of charge. All of our staff are bound to maintain confidentiality. We can also provide anonymous counselling on request.

At the EFB, we have a team of female psychologists, educators and social workers who work with various therapeutic orientations and with child and youth psychotherapists in the team.
