At the beginning of the 21st century, interaction between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region is growing in unknown scales. Market integration is advancing rapidly, science and research are further internationalized and the contact between different cultures is important and necessary. The Asia-Pacific-Forum Berlin e.V. (APFB) brings together committed people from business, science and culture, in order to foster cooperation and dialogue.
The Asia-Pacific-Forum Berlin functions as strategic partner of the Senatory Chancellory and organizes together with Berlin Partner GmbH the Business and Science Conference of the Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin.
After long years of service for the Asia-Pacific Forum Berlin and the Asia-Pacific Weeks, Mr. Rolf Eckrodt (right) has now retired. He remains closely associated with the organization. Mr. Volker Schlegel (left), Of Counsel Ambassador to Singapore, was appointed his successor and new president. He will use his valuable and long term experience in politics and business for the goals of the APFB.
In the new board, which was elected on 17 November by the General Assembly, we also welcome Dr. Rainer Seider, Head of Divison “European and International Cooperation” of the Berlin Senate Administration for Economics, Technology and Research.
